He is survived by his wife, Rosalie two daughters, Sharon Worden of Utica, and Karen Thompson and her partner, Timothy Hawkins, both of Rome his step-children and their spouses, Michael and Tina DeSantis of Whitesboro, Anthony and Elaine DeSantis, and John Paul DeSantis and his fiancée, Penny Kennedy, all of Utica several grandchildren, Shannon and Jason Barber, Amber (Lynch) and Riccardo Ravaschio, Brittany Ramos, Ashli Moran, Vanessa Falcone, Blaine McCurry, Jr., Francesca and Gianna DeSantis, Anthony, Jr. A master carpenter, who could fix or build almost anything, Carl could always be found doing something around the house. ![]() He had a great love for all animals, especially his dog, Lilly. The couple shared in a union of more than thirty-six years.Ĭarl was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Carl was blessed with a second marriage to the former Rosalie J. A heavy equipment operator by trade, Carl held positions with various construction companies throughout the area, including, Green Island Construction, Delia Construction, Delaney Construction, and Rifenburg Construction Company in Troy, NY, from where he retired. After his discharge, Carl married the former Janet S. He served during the Korean War and was awarded many medals, including, the Korean Service Medal, the UN Service Medal, and the National Service Defense Medal. Carl graduated from Whitesboro Central High School, and proudly entered the US Marine Corps shortly after graduation, where he was quickly promoted to the rank of Corporal E4. He was born in Utica, NY, June 26, 1933, a son of the late Carl B. McCurry, 89, of Marcy, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at his home.
